Dr. Randy Valimont, Senior Pastor of Exciting First Assembly of God in Griffin, Georgia, is a native of Johnson City, New York. He is married to Jelly Jordan Valimont of McMinnville, Tennessee. They have three daughters, Jordan, Danielle, and Alayna. Dr. and Mrs. Valimont are both graduates of Southeastern University of Lakeland, Florida. In 2008 he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Southern Asia Bible College of Bangalore, India. He received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Beulah Heights University of Atlanta, GA in 2007 and earned a Doctor of Religious Philosophy degree in 2006 from Logos Graduate School of Jacksonville, FL. In 1993, they relocated to Griffin, Georgia where they accepted the position as Senior Pastor of Griffin First Assembly of God.
During Pastor Valimont's ministry at Griffin First Assembly, more than twenty thousand souls have dedicated their lives to Jesus Christ through the ministries of the church. The church has grown from 400 to over 4,200 in Sunday morning worship attendance.
In 1995, under his direction, Fresh Touch, a radio and television ministry was launched. The television and radio ministry currently reaches across the United States of America as well as in foreign countries. Through the ministry of Fresh Touch, Griffin First Assembly of God was enabled to partner with a local Christian radio station, WMVV, and launch Wontok Radio in Papua, New Guinea. Wontok Radio, the first of its kind in New Guinea, has been instrumental in changing that nation for God.
Pastor Valimont has served on the World Missions Board of the Assemblies of God, Georgia District Missions Director and as an Executive Presbyter of the Georgia District Assemblies of God. Currently, he is a General Presbyter for the General Council of the Assemblies of God. In addition to these responsibilities, Pastor Valimont serves on the following boards: CIS Bible School Board of Regents Chairman, AG Trust, Global Initiative for Ministry to Muslims, Global University, Global Teen Challenge, and Emerge Ministries, as well as serving on committees and boards of the General Council. Recently, he was named President of Calcutta Mercy Ministries.
Pastor Valimont has preached in more than forty nations of the world. He has been featured on the Injoy Life Club, the 700 Club, American Family Radio, Global Pastors Network, and Trinity Broadcasting Network. His most recent book is Finding Significance in an Insignificant Place, published in 2006.
